I want to get a nose job done. I am getting married in September - that is in 4 months from now. What I would like to know is that whether the scars after the surgery will heal well before then. I have heard that scars remain up to one year but can be masked by hair style and clothes - but obviously this cannot be done for a nose job. Do you think I should postpone my wedding date by another 4 or 5 months or so. I am set on having the nose job done - so there is no compromise there. But I would really like a reassurance that the scars would be invisible by then I have to go through with this. Somebody advice me please.

Normally your scars should be gone in 4 months, if the procedure is minor. Usually the procedure is done from the inside, so there is minimal scarring on the outside, but it depends on what is actually required.

I would suggest that you wait for the surgery to be done, and see how it is healing, before setting a date.

The healing of scars in everyone is different. One thing about rhinoplasties though, it can take up to a year for all of the swelling to resolve. If you do not have the surgery, are you not going to get married? It would be better to discuss this with your partner, and see if you can get married, and at a time suitable for both of you, get the surgery done if you still want it. You would then have your partner for support and see you through this. If you try to rush things, especially cosmetic procedures, you may not get the desired results.

I heartli agree with vernon. It is a very sane suggsetion to wait out and go for it after marriage. Though rhinoplasty domne by a qualified surgeion has minimal risks like all surgery it varies from case to case and there is a list of complications associTED WITH IT. dO TA;LK IT out with your GP too

It would not be advisable to rush for a nose job with so little time left. As said in the earlier post, it may take upto a year for it to heal completely, as complications may come up. In the end you may end up looking worse than before at the time of the wedding, since time is so short. It would be best to leave it for later, when you are more relaxed and have time, or if you are adamant about getting a nose job done before getting married, then set the wedding date after you have finished with the surgery, and healed completely.
