Cost of medical procedures in Thailand is a little more than that of India.
For instance
In US - a Coronary Angioplasty would cost anywhere between $31,000 to 70,000 and in India it would cost you only $11,000 and in Thailand it is $13,000
So you can have a rough estimate of how much it would cost in Thailand if in India the lipid profile tests cost Rs.600/-

While diagnostic costs are rather cheap in India, Thailand and other countries in the east that promote medical tourism one should think twice before embarking on a vacation for a minor procedure. You shouldn't be penny wise and pound foolish.

Yes it does make sense - the need to travel abroad for a medical procedure only if it cost effective. But I would like to know how reliable are the hospitals aborad that offer a seemingly attractive package for surgical procedures? Sometimes they seem too good to be true. I would like first hand information in this regard please.
