Toe Nail 10 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi, My big-toe on the left foot is slightly bent outwards, from an old fracture. The nail seems to be curling in on the outer side, but I have no pain or discomfort. Is this the beginning of an ingrowing toenail?

hi Ogden,
From your query it looks like the toe nail is growing in the wrong direction – but as long as you don’t feel any pain it is safe, but If you feel worried about it - you better to take an opinion about it from your physician.

Good. I have not had to see a doctor for a long time now, and I hope it continues that way. I shall watch the nail, and as you said, if any discomfort shows up, I shall go to the doctor.

Know what??! My boy friend had his toe nail growing inwards. He ignored the pain and discomfort initially - but in a couple of months time - he had to go in for a minor surgery to cut out that nail. So please be careful and if necessary cut the nail before it grows further down.

Hello - I am very serious when I say - I have known of a person who had to get is left foot amputated because the problem actually started with a toe nail growing inwards. But of course he was diabetic - he ignored the problem initially - then the toe got affected - gangrene developed and he had to get rid of that leg. It may happen to maybe .001% of the people - but my strong suggestion is DO NO IGNORE it.
