I have 2 corns in my left foot, digging in and causing pain while walking. Is there any medical treatment to get rid of this pain other than surgery? Really I am suffering very badly, so some one suggests me a treatment as soon as possible.

Firstly don't wear tight fitting shoes. Soak your feet in warm water with epsom salt for half an hour every day. Use pumice stone to scale off the callous formation. Try placing a moleskin pad over the corn. This will help you relieve the pressure from that area. Lanolin-enriched lotion softens the area.

Try all these out and you will be soon relieved off your corn.

Hello Yim,
If you are in a hury, you can have it surgically removed. The corn cap takes time to act, and sometimes one application is not enough to remove it completely. You should find out why you are getting the corns in the first place, because if the cause is not treated, it will keep coming back.

What exactly are foot corns? How do they develop? My daughter has a black callous formation at the heel of her foot. It is about a centimeter in diameter and she says it hurts when she walks. I had thought it was a blood clot from a previous injury - but now it is almost 3 weeks and she says it hurts a lot - of and on. Could it be that she has developed a corn? Every time I want to take her the doctor she says it does not hurt at all - but then it keeps coming and going - the hurt I mean - what would your advice be?

Hi,
Your daughter seems to be suffering from foot corn …..Have a look at it if it is a small round hardened area and painful when U put pressure on it ….then surely it is foot corn…..
So as Rambo advised buy the corn cap plaster and stick it on the corn ……It will fall of in a few days…
If it does not come off……….. then it is time U convince your daughter and take her to doctor..

these small round plaster that claim to remove the foot corns - are not always helpful. do consult a physician immediately - and get it removed if necessary by a minor surgery - if not you may cause more damage to your foot muscles and this damage could be irreversible.

One of the best home remedies is to soak your feet in warm, salted water for around five to ten minutes. Then apply soap and rub your foot, concentrating on the area around the corn, with a pumice stone, for five minutes. Do this every night, and slowly, the dead skin will soften and come out.
