Worms?? 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi, my three year old is very picky about food, and does not seem to have an appetite. He is also just barely reaching normal weight for his age. A friend suggested that it may be worms. Are there any specific symptoms for this?

Hi Havell,
It is common for children in that age group to be suffering from worms. General symptoms are stomach pain, skin rashes, fever etc., Instead of watching out for the symptoms which can be misleading at times u could go for a stool examination of the child. Which can clear your doubt – and also you can go for medical treatment at the earliest as required

some children are picky eaters...they improve over time. if he is physically active you should not have reason to worry. having said that it is a good idea to get him thoroughly checked up for your peace of mind.

Anal itching is a symptom of worms in the tummy. Going barefoot playing in the sand etc increase the chances of worms. Sometimes patches are seen on the cheek bone. I agree with page me. U should not wait to observe symptoms. Go in for a stool test
