I have just started my periods and i want an advise from girls:

Should i use tampoon or pads?

Pads are more safer then tampoons. Pads are little bit uncomfortable but in safety they score over tampoon.Tampoons also disrupt natural flow. Tampoons wil be painful if you inserting them incorrectly. Risk of toxic shock syndrom (TSS) exist in tampoon.

You should start with pads since you are young. Over a period of time, learn to wear tampoon as you will find them handy if you are active like you do swimming or running etc.

Hi, my teenage daughter has just started having her period too. I gave her the choice between using pads or tampons-- she opted for pads as according to her it is easier to use. I myself am using pads as well cause I always had difficulty inserting it. But I guess it is just a matter of which is more comfortable for you. Go for the one that is giving you more comfort and security.

Well I must say that pads are safer for youngsters and less cumbersome. They can gradually graduate to tampons. But it is a matter of what one feels comfortable with rather grading their relative merits and demerits.

Tampons have to be inserted inside the vaginal tract so it is not at all advisable especially in case of teenagers – Because it could scratch the vaginal surface and tampons are also breeding ground for bacteria if not changed in time. Pads are much safer use them even though it is a bit more messy.
