Frequent Belching 1 Year, 3 Months ago Karma: 0  
I belch frequently. My digestion is normal but at times the belch smells acidic. I have no other complications. Can anybody tell me why should this be so and is it a sign of anything severe? Should I worry and what should I do get rid of the frequent belches?

This could well be a sign of a gastrointestinal disorder. The severity of this disorder can only be diagnosed after medical examination. So I suggest you consult your doctor immediately and have the tests done.

You should not worry about it since belching though embarrassing situation does not have major side effects. Make sure you are chewing and eating food slowly thus aiding proper digestion.

Dont take too many carbonated drinks and dont drink with a straw. If your belching is related to lactose issue, then avoid milk, cheese and related products.

Smethicone and agents are two drugs which are helpful in easing our belching.
