Approximately from 2 years, I feel strange sensations in my teeth, and can’t eat very hot and very cold food. Doctor said it’s due to erosion of the enamel. What is the safe procedure to fix up my sensitive teeth? Is coating will be required?

Hi,
As your doctor said this is caused by the erosion of the teeth enamel. Here is the link to a very good treatment in such cases - http://www.news-medical.net/?id=7953
Dental therapy that regenerates the tooth enamel.
This will help.

yes, sometimes the enamel of the teeth do get eroded, exposing the nerve endings. this results in the teeth getting highly sensitive.
you could ask your doctor about porcelain veneers to treat the problem.

The enamel regeneration mentioned by Page Me, as claimed by Dr K.Y does not have FDA approval as yet, and the tests have been done one an extracted tooth only, and clinical trials have yet to be conducted. Therefore, for your problem, only current treatments like applying porcelain veneer etc are available now.

I think as dune suggests you should go in for porcelain veneers - it also has a cosmetic appeal and would be a better option than enamel restoration.

Hi,

I heard that porcelain veneer can crack, cause pain and sometimes make gums bleed. Is it true, if not what is the procedure to fix it up? Thanks

Porcelain veneers crack only if it receives an unnaturally strong blow - like in the case of accidents - but this can happen to normal teeth as well - but I can assure otherwise they don't crack and is surely a very safe option.
