One of model friends has replaced her nails through cosmestic treatment..is that possible?

You can stick on an artificial nail on the original one, but you cannot replace it. If you remove it, it may grow back in a few months, if the root is not damaged. As far as I know, your model friend may have had a nail stuck on to the original one.
