Is there a permanent cure for Osteomalacia? Will sufficient calcium intake reverse the process and strengthen the bones till it is back to normal? Or is there any other permanent cure for this ailment?

The other name for this is rickets. It is due to lack of or breakdown of vitamin D. Treatment improves the condition, and it may require supplements of Vitamin D as well as calcium. Please visit this website for more info.

Yes yes yes...vitamin D, calcium, and phosphorus supplements help in curing Osteomalacia. Only doctor can tell how much you need based on certain medical test.

If you taking vitamin D, calcium, and phosphorus supplements , you need to do regular blood test to make sure everything is okay. Some improvement you can see within few weeks but for major improvement, it takes 8-10 months.

You do not have to go out in the harsh sun to cure rickets. You can spend an hour in the morning when the sun is mild, and repeat it everyday. This way you get the sun you need and avoid the harshness.

Is sunlight the only option for Vitamin D - is there any natural food that contains Vitamin D?

Sure, fortified milk contains Vitamin D, and so does fatty fish, and fish oils.
