Singapore airlines operates 2 flights daily to bejing. So the connectivity is good. philippines airlines also operate a flight between singapore and bejing.

Malaysian airlines is also good though it is expensive.

The cheapest airlines is China Southern airlines.

I would prefer taking a flight. Even though you say 50 hours, it may take more, and driving is so stressful. With so many choices available in airlines as you pointed out, you can find one of your liking, with direct flights or with stopovers as you want. Singapore Airlines would be my choice out of Singapore.

Make sure you get the relevant chinese visa...though china and singapore are close geographically, but there are visa restrictions and chinese are very strict relating to visa. So, if you are planning to visit for more then 30 days, get the relevant visa to avoid any trouble at airport.
