The problem of Terrorism 8 Months ago

Hello,
The topic of terrorism has to come up in travel these days. There has been an upsurge of terrorism in the world, and I wonder if it would affect people in their travel plans for medical tourism. You would not want to go to a risky country for a medical procedure and end up needing more. I do not want to label any country risky, since it can happen anywhere now, that is how much this cancer has spread. Any comments on this?

Unfortunately, India is affected maximum by terrorist activities. Yes risk is there but have you ever heard of bomb blast in singapore, malaysia or hungary? No we have not.
So, India is at risk as we have seen in the past. I dont think just because of terror scare you want to end your plans of medical tourism. You have posted this question in india fourm , so i am assuming you are referring to India in this post.
Your plan should be based on best deal- cost saving, quality of treatment etc. Terrorism frankly speaking should not figure in your medican tourism plans.

I suppose we should not make too much of it now, but if it keeps increasing people are going to get worried. I put this in the India column only because its been in the news lately. It could well have been Israel for that matter.

It is unfortunate that India has some countries that have terrorism as the main agenda in its proximity. Political niceties aside, if you call a spade a spade, that is the actual problem, at least that is how I see it. So no matter how brave you are, you are always going to think twice about travel there, or any country that has this problem. You can see the difference if you compare with Malaysia or Singapore where you can go without second thoughts as was pointed out in an earlier post.
