Yes there are a few people who are intolerant to lactose. This could be because your body does not have the enzyme lactase in sufficient quantity to digerst milk. But that should no be worrying you much as you can go in for milk or nutritional supplements.

Hey this is a common problem, my son has it, and the doctor said the same thing, to give alternatives. He has been taking milk alternatives like soy milk. Try some milk alternatives, they are good for health.

this problem is common in many people because in most of the humans the enzyme (lactase)responsible for break down of lactose (a type of sugar) in milk and milk products is not there or not fully secreted in the body ...
You can buy pills or drops at a drug or grocery store to help you digest lactose. They are
* Pills that you chew right before eating foods with lactose. These pills are called lactase enzyme caplets.
* A liquid that you add to milk before drinking. The liquid is called lactase enzyme drops.
You can also drink a special milk with less lactose in it till the time your body starts developing that nzyme. You can buy this milk at the grocery store. It is called lactose-reduced milk.
