Located along Chang Klan Road, the Night Bazaar is a bargain shopper’s dream. Lose yourself in the myriad pavement stalls with colorful umbrellas, displaying exquisite handicrafts and the best selection of antiques.  It’s also a mecca for fake designer goods, textiles, and electronic items and has a nice selection of street side restaurants – perfect to drop in to when all the shopping has worn you out. Everywhere in the market, you will find fabric shops and tailors, small tribal outlets, shoe shops, boutiques, and jewelers. Besides the Night Bazaar, there are also plenty of handicraft shops scattered around Chiang Mai.  These offer better quality handicrafts at slightly higher prices.

For tourists interested in clothing and apparel, Chiang Mai has a wide range of luxurious silks, tailor-made suits, skirts, and designer dresses at reasonable rates that will please the most fastidious dresser. There are also items like decorative paper made from the bark of the mulberry tree, top quality woodcarvings of teak, rosewood and rattan, intricately designed jewelry, and leatherwear available at remarkably affordable prices. Don’t forget to pick up the hand made candles that are a specialty of this city.
