Many of the international hotel chains have set up shop in the city center, and they include world class services like spas and fitness centers, coffee bars, and gift shops.  As a general rule, the greater the number of freebies offered, the higher the cost of the rooms.  Luxury living in Chiang Mai, however, is still more affordable than in other international cities.  Ultimately, Chiang Mai’s main selling point is its unique location in breathtaking mountain ranges.  The many resorts that are scattered across the hills provide a welcome escape for those looking to truly get away from it all.  Choose from a wide range of accommodations that includes single room units to multi-family bungalows and large mountain cabins.  Many of these resorts offer perks that rival the services of most five star hotels.  

Location

Choose a pad that’s close to whatever activities you plan to indulge in to make the most of your Chiang Mai experience.  If you’re in need of some serious “retail” therapy or want to be close to Chiang Mai’s throbbing nightlife, rent a room on downtown Thapae Road or Chang Moi Road.  If, on the other hand, you plan to get high on the spectacular mountainside views, set up camp on Suthep Road, Canal Road, or Chang Puak Road.  Find a place on Wang Sing Kham Road or Faharm Road for snooze time on the Ping River.
