Bangkok’s Hotels on Any Budget

Luxury Hotels in the “City of Angels”

Travelers to the Bangkok (the City of Angeles) are often amazed at the pricing, variety, and quality of accommodations spread throughout this massive metropolis.  The three main classes of accommodations are luxury, middle, and budget, with plenty of gray room in between. Bangkok’s luxury hotels are typically high-end, international hotel chains that pamper guests with tropical gardens, pools, spas, lounges, and suites stocked with fresh tropical fruit.  Incredibly, you can find a luxury room for as little as 80 USD if you shop around and book in advance.  The majority of Bangkok’s luxury hotels can be found on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, but there are countless other options available in high traffic areas like Sukhumvit, Silom, and Aree.

No End to Variety of Middle Class Accommodation

If your budget is mid-range, you will be amazed at the large selection of hotels and accommodations that Bangkok offers. The downtown areas of Silom, Surawong, Sukhumwit, Phloenchit and Ratchadaphisek are home to a great selection of hotels that offer basic amenities and restaurants for as little as 18 USD a night.  If you book far enough in advance and reserve many days, this pricing can come down considerably.  And increasingly, even mid-rang hotels offer a wide variety of amenities and perks.  For less than 100 USD, your lodging will be very comfortable with access to pools, clubs and the must-have Thai massage.  Fresh fruit, spa access, cable television, and fine dining are also quite accessible, either on the hotel’s grounds or nearby.

Backpacker’s Paradise in Lodging

For those on a tight budget, dorm-style accommodations that offer single bunks can be found for about 5 USD all over Bangkok.  The Khao San Road area has some of the lowest priced accommodations in the city. This haven for backpackers offers private and semi-private rooms with fans or air conditioning, shared or private bathrooms, and television. Hostels commonly offer an internet lounge and breakfast area, but even those that don’t are never far away from an excellent restaurant or Internet café. However, experienced hostel patrons suggest bringing a roll of toilet paper and a sleeping bag for the bed. A good night’s sleep and more can be found at comfortable prices for all types of budgets in Bangkok.
