When it comes to selecting a facility based on affordable prices for dental work, there might not be a substantial difference in rates between large hospitals and private clinics. However, standards of treatment and care might vary.  More established health centers invest considerably in the best and latest equipment (dental X–Ray machines and even the chairs themselves don’t come cheap) so you’ll have access to all the latest bells and whistles on your dental vacation.  Moreover, quality control standards are higher at certain hospitals.  Places like Bumrungrad, for instance, have international reputations to maintain and staff members are less likely to mess things up.  Language won’t be a problem; their dental clinics have interpreters too.  On the other hand, treatment in a large facility can be impersonal since you’re just one among thousands who file past their doors every month.  At a smaller private clinic, you’re more likely to enjoy a personal touch, but the availability of equipment could be an issue.  And although many doctors and staff speak English, communication might still be a problem.

Your dental trip will probably stretch over several days, so choose a pad that’s close to wherever you’re getting your teeth fixed.  This might not seem like such a big deal, given that taxis are so cheap here, but you won’t be smiling so much when you miss your appointment because you were stuck in three hours of Bangkok’s notorious traffic. Dental and health tourism are big in Thailand, so you shouldn’t have a problem finding a dental center that’s close to your vacation pad.

If you’ve decided on one of the bigger health centers for your dental work, check to see how many times your preferred dentist is in each week.  Some are only available a couple of days in a week which might be a problem if you’re on a limited vacation.  Probably the most important thing to remember: make sure you budget enough time to actually enjoy yourself.  If you’re going to fly 15+ hours for treatment, you might as well soak up some sun and relaxation.
