Patients who use medical travel to other countries as a way to find affordable healthcare for treatments will not be disappointed.  Results published in the “International Passenger Survey 2005,” conducted by England’s Office for National Statistics, show 82% savings on surgeries like prostate removal, 61% on dental implants, and 85% on cheek implants.  Another independent survey found on Treatment Abroad.net reported that 80% savings are available for Americans who undergo medical travel for surgery or treatment abroad. When comparing elective surgery costs between private healthcare providers in the United States and those of other countries, the survey reports that cost savings for prostate removal in Bulgaria costs 82% less than in the United States.  A gall bladder removal outside the U.S. can be performed at a savings of 79%. Medical travel costs used in the survey included the medical treatment, accommodations, and travel.

Affordable Healthcare for Dental Problems

Dental treatment is another popular reason for medical travel because it is one of the more costly treatments in countries like England, especially when compared to Poland, Croatia, and Thailand.  One of the best hospitals for dental care in Thailand is Dental Hospital in Bangkok.  The affordable healthcare treatments include fillings, teeth cleaning, root canals, braces, crowns, bridges, oral surgery and more.  Dental Hospital is known as one of the best hospitals for dental care in Thailand with 24-hour emergency service, twenty-four treatment rooms including an operating room and a dental laboratory.  Another excellent hospital for dental care in Thailand is Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC) that specializes in implants and cosmetic dentistry.  Many of its 35 dentists are internationally trained in the United States and England.  Affordable healthcare for dental and other medical reasons are catalysts for patients seeking quality care at a bargain.
