Affordable Hip Surgery and Knee Replacement Surgery

Harvard Medical International (HMI), Boston, USA and the Wockhardt Hospitals Group have agreed to set up a chain of super speciality hospitals across India which will provide facilities for knee replacement surgery and hip surgery.  The Wockhardt Group is already in the forefront of medical tourism in India, and patients from many countries who have availed of its facilities have reported satisfaction with the standards.

   

Cost-Effective Medical Tourism

One such patient is Mrs. Maudine Sherber of Fairfield, Texas who experienced the quality of medical care facilities in India firsthand.  After falling while on vacation with her husband Mrs. Sherber required a total knee replacement surgery.  Lacking medical coverage, the couple could not afford the high cost of surgery in the United States.  In Texas the surgery with an overnighter at the hospital would cost an estimated $40,000 to $50,000.  The couple began looking at other treatment options, and in the process, chanced upon medical tourism.  Mrs. Sherber liked the concept since, “they concentrate on two things, providing exceptionally good health care at an extremely modest price and making a holiday of it.”
