  • Affordable Infertility Treatments: Available in India

The frustration of being unable to conceive is often compounded by the cost of fertility treatments.  Advances in medical science and technology have only worsened matters since much more technical expertise is required to conduct the procedures and tests.  While childbirth is indeed priceless, few can afford the exorbitant costs associated with fertility treatments in many parts of the world.

Low-priced Brow Lift Surgery Is Not a Myth

Most of the Beverly Hills clientele of plastic surgeon Dr. Chiu don’t blink an eyelash at the $8,000 price tag attached to a simple brow lift.  Then again, there are those among them who vouch for the cheaper Botox lift treatment instead.  The good doctor notes, “In this economy, even the wealthiest women have to make a decision between that coveted Hermes purse and looking the age she feels.  Of course, I tell them they can have the best of both worlds by opting for a Chanel and seeing me for a recession-friendly treatment!”  If the disgustingly rich can be price sensitive, then why shouldn’t the rest of us?  The search for that elusive low-priced brow lift surgery has taken us out of our comfort zones and, indeed, out of our own countries.  While jet-setting to India for a quick facial pick-me-up sounds thrilling, a few words of caution should be considered.

Is Health Tourism Safe?

Medical tourism critics have often expounded on potential plastic surgery dangers that could arise if a consumer is not well informed.  The usual plastic surgery dangers include getting an unqualified or inexperienced surgeon or being treated in an unaccredited clinic with less than impeccable hygiene standards.  Both situations should be diligently avoided by combining online research with expert advice from medical tourism agencies.  A more distressing type of danger arises in the form of public strikes or even terrorist attacks in third world countries.   A strike could impact the availability of staff to attend to your needs as promised and/or may impact the quality of overall service.

Terrorist threats are equally troubling.  In the wake of the recent attacks on a Mumbai, hospitals in India have also had to deal with the justified concern of foreign patients scheduled for treatment in the coming days.  Wockhardt Hospital's CEO, Vishal Bali, commented, “Though there is some fear in the minds of foreigners, they also have a lot of confidence in our country.  I expect only a short-term impact.” Ultimately, the answer to the question “is health tourism safe” can only be answered by the individual after carefully weighing the pros and cons against his or her own situation.
