  • Turkey Becoming Synonymous with Saving Money

Shortages in affordable health care are driving dental patients overseas, where bedside manners, optimal technology solutions, and rock-bottom prices await.  In addition to the low cost and high quality of highly sought after dental procedures like laser teeth whitening, patients find short lines and top quality in places like Turkey, one of Europe’s top dental tourism destinations.

Dress for the Weather

On the surface, this one is so obvious that it probably isn’t worth mentioning.  But summers in Toronto, Miami, and London are quite different from summers in Mumbai, Bangkok, and Manila.  Because medical tourism destinations are frequently in tropical areas near the equator, “dressing for the weather” becomes extremely important.  There’s hot, and then there HOT.

The reason that we bring this up now is because some of the summertime clothes that women frequently wear in the West are not always appropriate when traveling abroad to certain medical tourism destinations.  So perhaps a better title for this section should be Dress for the Weather and Local Customs.  Revealing tops, short skirts, mid-riffs, and high-heeled shoes are just a few of the items you might want to leave behind.  Your travel guidebook should be able to clue you into what is and isn't acceptable in each country.

Even in medical tourism destinations where weather is not a factor, dressing conservatively is still a good idea.  Again, take your cues from the locals and try not to stick out too much.  If you find that you’re the only woman on the street wearing a mid-riff, consider going back to your hotel room to change into something a little less revealing.
