How Much Does Abdominplasty Cost in Brazil?
The current recession is putting a hold on the number of cosmetic procedures in the U.S.  The $10 billion U.S. plastic surgery market had a 9 percent slowdown, the first since 2004. As the economy puts a damper on bank accounts and luxury budgets, major cosmetic surgery such as liposuction, abdominplasty and breast augmentations are slowing down in the U.S.

What Is LASIK Surgery?
Laser in-situ keratomileusis (more common known as LASIK) is a common surgical method to correct problems of the eye like nearsightedness, myopia, hypermetropia, and astigmatism. Vision problems arise when the cornea is unable to direct light rays onto the retina. During LASIK surgery, the shape of the cornea is manipulated to allow light rays to focus on the retina.  Â
LASIK surgery is not recommended for people under 18, patients without stable vision for at least a year, and people with diseases of the cornea. LASIK surgery is performed as an out-patient procedure and takes about 30 minutes. The surgeon numbs the eye using anesthetic drops and the holds open the eyelids using special tools. A small flap-like incision is made in the cornea through which the doctor guides laser rays on to the inner aspect of the cornea. A computer controls the strength and number of laser rays directed and the kind of reshaping of the cornea that is done. After the procedure, the flap of the cornea is placed back in place, but not stitched. The doctor places a temporary shield on the eye after LASIK surgery to protect it.Â
Minor itching or pain in the eye is normal after LASIK surgery. Water should not enter the eye for a month after LASIK surgery, although the doctor will usually prescribe special eye drops to assist with dryness. Contact lenses cannot be used, though sunglasses are advised to reduce glare. All contact sports should be avoided for 4-6 weeks after LASIK surgery. Lighter activities may be resumed after 2-3 weeks, while more strenuous activities should be postponed until you receive an ok for the doctor. Side effects may include blurriness, glare, dryness, eye fatigue and fluctuating vision. Regular check-ups are recommended, especially within 24-48 hours of the surgery.| Previous, Laryngoscopy & Biopsy | Next, Maxillary Antral |
