Shortages in affordable health care are driving dental patients overseas, where bedside manners, optimal technology solutions, and rock-bottom prices await.  In addition to the low cost and high quality of highly sought after dental procedures like laser teeth whitening, patients find short lines and top quality in places like Turkey, one of Europe’s top dental tourism destinations.

Transportation Options in Manila

The transportation options available in Manila reflect the colorful and vibrant nature of the city itself. One can ride around on two wheelers, hop on one of the gaudily decorated jeepneys, trundle along on buses, take to the seas, travel by air and rail, or simply walk about taking in the city sights.

Manila Travel

The most preferred modes of transport within Manila are buses, jeepneys, LRT, and taxis.

Buses

Buses ply most major routes and thoroughfares and can range from dilapidated contraptions to air conditioned coaches with various modern conveniences. The luxury buses may be more expensive but are definitely more comfortable. Once you have purchased your tickets, retain them till it’s time to disembark.

Jeepneys

Manila’s absurdly flamboyant jeepneys reflect the spirit of the city. These colorful, elongated jeeps follow regular routes. Like normal buses, jeepneys have designated stopping points, but they will also pull over if flagged down. They are as much fun to ride as they are to look at.

Taxis

Air conditioned taxis can be found everywhere. Always insist on the driver switching on the meter as soon as you get in. If the driver makes excuses about the meter being faulty, it’s a sign that he’s planning to take you on a different sort of ride! Get out and hail another cab.

LRT

The Light Rail Transit or the LRT is the fastest and most inexpensive way of getting around in Manila. Developed in phases, this metro runs both above and below ground and is usually on time.

In addition to the abovementioned modes, international rental agencies rent out a wide selection of cars, both with and without drivers. To drive in the Philippines, you must posses an international driving license and, more important, nerves of steel. Air planes and ferries are perfect for navigating the many small islets that make up the Philippines, and there are regular services provided by both private and government companies.
