Hotels in Jerusalem

Overview

Despite Jerusalem’s reputation as an international city that caters to all budgets, low-cost hotels and hostels are in short supply in this medical tourism hotspot. The only abundant, moderately priced accommodations are bed & breakfast arrangements in private homes, Christian guesthouses, and home-stay options.   

Luxury Hotels

Elegant and posh, King David Street is home to most of the city’s four and five star hotels.  Staying here will put you in close proximity to the Old City, tons of shopping, and numerous attractions.  You’ll also be minutes away from Jaffa Street and Yehuda Street, where all the dining and partying take place.   

Moderately Priced Hotels

The Ein Karem area is home to several guesthouses and smaller hotels.  The facilities are usually more basic, but they’re more affordable as well.  Although a little further from the action of King David Street, Ein Karem offers a ton of activities and sightseeing.  This is, after all, the Holy City.  Everywhere you go, you’ll be surrounded by living history, biblical overtones, and ancient legends. 

There are also Christian guesthouses all across town that cater to people of all faiths.  These typically have most of the amenities that you’d find in hotels, but they are priced considerably cheaper.  However, the rules might be stricter. For instance, an unmarried couple sharing a room would be frowned upon.  There are also sometimes curfews or alcohol restrictions as well.
