  • Turkey Becoming Synonymous with Saving Money

Shortages in affordable health care are driving dental patients overseas, where bedside manners, optimal technology solutions, and rock-bottom prices await.  In addition to the low cost and high quality of highly sought after dental procedures like laser teeth whitening, patients find short lines and top quality in places like Turkey, one of Europe’s top dental tourism destinations.

Overview

Israel enjoys a wide range of climates, varying from sub-tropical to temperate.  Typically Mediterranean, the summers here are long and hot, while the winters are short and rainy.

Summer

Summer begins in mid April and continues though October. If your medical tourism holiday takes you to the coastal areas during summer, you’ll find the heat almost oppressive, although the sea breezes offer some relief in the afternoons.  There is little or no rainfall during this time.  The best parts of the country to visit are in the highlands and the northern side of the county.  The humidity that ravages the rest of the country is markedly absent here.

Winter

Winter in Israel is a period of mild coolness and a lot of rainfall that begins in November. Snowfall is very rare, although you will see frost collecting in the hilly regions of the country.  January sees the coldest temperatures (August tends to be the hottest month of the year).

Best Time to Visit

Because the temperature remains relatively steady throughout the year, there really isn’t a “best” time to visit.  If possible, avoid the coastal areas and cities like Tel Aviv in the middle of summer, but otherwise, there are really no restrictions. If you visit between the middle of May and June for your medical tourism sojourn, watch out for the Khamsin, a dry desert wind that can last for long stretches (4-5 days sometimes).  Always pack appropriately on your medical tourism vacation, considering the weather in that part of the country.

Many medical tourists prefer to come during winter when places like Mt. Hebron have enough snow for winter activities.  November and March also see a lot of tourist activity because of the relative mildness of the climate.
