Accommodations in Budapest range from stylish and modern medical tourism palaces to historic hotels that were built in the 19^th century to drab accommodations that were built during the Communist era. With such a wide range of accommodations to choose from, you should have no problem finding the right place to stay on your medical tourism vacation.

Budget Hotels

Because Budapest is emerging as a popular stop for backpackers, you can usually find fairly affordable youth hostels throughout the city. Don’t expect lavish furnishings of course. These budget rooms tend to have only the most basic of amenities. A bed, chair, and bathroom (if you’re lucky). With a little more research, you can often find rooms in private houses that contain a few more comforts. These houses are usually located away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and you’ll probably enjoy the quiet and the green. The Buda Hills neighborhood has a choice of rentable rooms that are priced cheaper than those closer to the city.

Moderate Priced Hotels

However, you will probably not really need to pitch tent in a budget hotel. Room tariffs in Budapest are nowhere as expensive as other European capitals. Avoid the peak season from April to September, and during the F1 Grand Prix when everything gets marked up, including room rates. Low season is November to February, although Christmas gets really busy again. Generally a three star hotel should be able to offer you a telephone and television in your room, room service, and a restaurant and bar in the hotel.

Luxury Hotels

Budapest’s luxury hotels are mostly products of the post Communist era, and they are usually managed by the major international hotel chains. The service and quality should be comparable to what you’d fine in other international cities.
