Climate in Hungary

Overview

With its geographical location in central Europe, Hungary has a temperate continental climate with a variety of meteorological influences from as far away as the Mediterranean and Atlantic.  Medical tourism vacationers arriving from Europe and the United states will find the weather pleasant with variations in temperature depending on the location.  

Seasons

January, the coldest month in the calendar, marks the height of winter, and snowfall is not uncommon during this time. The snow and cloudy skies add a certain "gothic" charm to the landscape, but avoid this season for your medical tourism holiday. Many attractions like museums and galleries are closed, and you’ll find many locals are off for their winter holidays.  Most of the natural sights are covered with a blanket of snow. 

Summer begins officially at the end of July and is quite long.  The days are warm and sunny, and temperatures can soar unexpectedly on some days.  This isn’t a bad time to visit, but you’ll find the resorts are all packed with holiday makers, and prices are hiked.  Plus, heat waves are common and the humidity can be exasperating. 

Fall and spring are the best times to visit Hungary, with spring being the preferred season for savvy travelers.  The landscape is incredibly beautiful, and the weather is just right.  You won’t find the usual summer throngs of holiday makers packing shops and clubs, which makes for a nice vacation after your medical tourism experience. Springtime in Hungary normally begins with showers.  If you prefer a Mediterranean type of climate, you’ll enjoy the weather in the southern part of the country.  Spring arrive earlier here than in other parts of Hungary. Autumn in Hungary is splendid, too. If your medical tourism vacation takes you to Budapest, you’ll love heading to the mountains around the city to watch the reds, golds, and oranges that decorate the majestic slopes.
