  • Turkey Becoming Synonymous with Saving Money

Shortages in affordable health care are driving dental patients overseas, where bedside manners, optimal technology solutions, and rock-bottom prices await.  In addition to the low cost and high quality of highly sought after dental procedures like laser teeth whitening, patients find short lines and top quality in places like Turkey, one of Europe’s top dental tourism destinations.

Pleasant Climate

costa rica medical tourism health vacation-2.jpg

Costa Rica has a typical tropical climate owing to its equatorial location.  There are mainly two seasons here –the summer or the dry season where it does rain, but not heavily, and the wet or winter season, when it rains… a lot.  The dry season officially kicks off in December and continues till May.  The wet season begins in May and continues through November.

When to Visit

The dry season is the official tourist season in San Jose and in all parts of Costa Rica.  Foreign tourists arrive here for their winter holidays, and locals also take to the beaches to enjoy their school breaks.  The season itself is full of natural beauty with the sun shining for an average of 12 hours a day.  Occasionally, a shower might surprise you, but these are hardly torrential.  This is a great time for your medical tourism vacation because you get to enjoy San Jose at her finest.  On the flip side, the prices tend to be higher due to increased demand for hotel rooms, restaurants, and other services.

If there is no rush to get to San Jose, schedule your medical tourism vacation during the wet or green season.  The weather is still beautiful –this is Costa Rica, after all – but you might experience a sudden afternoon shower.  In fact, you will likely experience many sudden afternoon showers.  Even so, you can still expect at least 5 hours of glorious sunshine on most days. In addition, there are fewer camera-toting vacationers around, and prices are lower than in the peak season.  If you arrive during Christmas and New Year’s for your medical tourism holiday, expect to see the entire country at the beaches. Everything shuts down, so be sure to schedule your procedures and treatments accordingly.

If you intend to head to the Caribbean coast, bear in mind that there is no dry season here at all. It rains all year around, so pack appropriately.
