Uniform Climate

Sao Paulo is one of the largest and most diverse medical tourism destinations in the world. With 17 million inhabitants that include Portuguese, Arabs, Italians, Lebanese, Koreans, and Chinese, this city will overwhelm you with the sheer diversity of the populace. The climate on the other hand, is nothing to fear. Sao Paulo tends to have a uniform kind of tropical climate with few variations.  This isn’t a place you can expect chilly snowstorms – the last time people saw snow was in 1918.  Tornadoes and deadly storms are also quite rare.  Instead of natural disasters and uncooperative weather, Sao Paulo offers up a calm balminess that is ideal for medical tourism vacations and general relaxation.  The worst thing you'll have to deal with is the heat (which can be pretty bad for the ill-prepared). 

Seasons

Summers in Sao Paulo can be oppressive, and they usually last from December to March. This is also when school children have their holidays, and families take to the beach.  Temperatures can exceed 90 degrees.  Winter begins in April, and continues through August.  The average temperature in winter is around 60 degrees (16 degrees C), although it’s been known to dip as low as 50 degrees (11 degrees C). If you’re visiting during wintertime, bring the sort of clothes that you would wear during a standard New York autumn; sweaters, jackets, etc.  

Rainy Season?

There isn’t really a rainy season in Sao Paulo.  Rather, there is persistent and abundant rainfall throughout the year.  The rains come frequently and in short bursts.  A sudden downpour can lead to traffic jams in what is one of the most traffic logged cities in South America.  Always budget plenty of time into your schedule, whether you're going shopping or getting ready for a medical tourism procedure.  Sao Paulo's unpredictable rainfall has been known to make the entire city stop at times.
